Profile
Be excited, be very excited. Sarah Taylor is a talent-and-a-half and, at just 17, she's going to be around the England set-up for years yet. This explosive, organized batsman burst on to the scene this summer, taking the gloves twice and hitting a-run-a-ball 61 on her way to securing the series victory against India.
She is Sussex's wicketkeeper-batsman, and the England keeper-in-waiting, behind her hero Jane Smit. It was no shock to anyone but Taylor that she was included in this summer's squad; whispers of her inclusion had been circulating for a while and a strong showing at the Super 4s confirmed her selection.
Lightning-fast behind the stumps, Taylor has kept out Brighton College's male keeper in for a spot in their first team, for whom she plays with England's Holly Colvin. Their development at the school is in good hands, as it's being overseen by none other than the former England captain, Clare Connor, who now combines teaching English with PR work, and of course coaching.
After impressing for the England Development Squad, making three fifties in three games. Her top score was an unbeaten 90 against the Netherlands, but she has also made two other tidy fifties against Scotland and Ireland.
