Profile
Francois du Plessis is one of South Africa's most promising young batsmen, In 2003 he toured England with the Under-19 side, scoring 177 in the third Test, and over the last four seasons he has attracted much favourable comment. He was given a one-year deal by Lancashire for 2008 on a Kolpak contract - he played for Todmorden in the Lancashire League in 2007 so was no stranger to the area.
