County News Capel to replace Wessels at Northamptonshire July 31, 2006 Northamptonshire have announced that David Capel will replace Kepler Wessels as the club's coach for the remainder of the season. Wessels left on Friday by mutual consent, following a poor season and Capel, the former England allrounder, is widely tipped to assume the role full-time next season. He has been in charge of Northamptonshire's academy and their 2nd XI side; David Ripley is expected to replace Capel in both of his previous roles. Northamptonshire are second from bottom of Division Two of the County Championship, with just two wins from nine matches this season. © Cricinfo
