Jack Simmons, the chairman of Lancashire, has been appointed as the ECB's chairman of cricket, to succeed Dennis Amiss.
Simmons, 66, was elected following a ballot of the 18 counties and the MCC. In the ballot, which was conducted by the Electoral Reform Society, Simmons received twelve votes - beating Clive Leach, the Durham chairman, who received seven.
Amiss originally beat Simmons to the role of deputy back in November.
