Shivnarine Chanderpaul continued his terrific form with a second consecutive hundred to take Guyana to a formidable 320 for 6 against Leeward Islands at the end of first day of the tenth-round of Carib Beer series at Hampton Court ground in Guyana. Chanderpaul, 118 not out, was involved in a 160-run-partnership with Neil McGarrell(64), to rescue Guyana from a precarious 160 for 6. Electing to bat, Guyana lost three early wickets for before Ramnaresh Sarwan and Assad Fudadin repaired the innings with a 66-run partnership for the fourth wicket. After Sarwan(47) departed for Fudadin(24) it was left to Chanderpaul to hold the innings together and he did so magnificently, striking 17 fours in his 157-ball innings. McGarrell, making a comeback after missing three rounds, spanked six boundaries. They were particularly severe on Omari Banks, the offspinner, whose 2 wickets cost his 121 runs.

Jamaica 53 for 0 trail Windward Islands 212 (Smith 121) by 159 runs
Scorecard

Despite a fighting century by Devon Smith, Windward Islands were bowled out for 212 by Jamaica who further cemented their position by reaching 53 for no loss at close of play. Dwight Washington and Nikita Miller were the bowling heroes for Jamaica with four wickets apiece. Windwards were off to a promising, putting up 66 for the first wicket, but lost three wickets for 20 runs, and though Darren Sammy(27) and Smith shared a fourth-wicket partnership of 71, wickets again fell steadily after Sammy's departure, leaving Smith to wage a lone battle. Smith raised his century from 140 balls with 13 fours before perishing to Gareth Breese on 121. Washington's 4 for 18 bettered his previous best while Miller's 4 for 27 equalled his best. Wavell Hinds(37) and Chris Gayle (12) then reduced the deficit by 53 runs.

Barbados 6 for 0 trail Trinidad and Tobago 244 (Powell 58, Maraj 56) by 238 runs
Scorecard

Ricardo Powell and Tishan Maraj helped Trinidad and Tobago to post a moderate total of 244 against Barbados on a rain affected day at Queens Park Oval. Put into bat by Courtney Browne, the Barbados captain, T&T were 77 for three before Powell (58) and Maraj (56) stabilized the innings with sensible batting. Powell's knock included nine fours while Maraj struck seven. The 74-run-partnership was brought to an end when Maraj was caught by Sherwin Campbell off Martin Nurse, to leave them on 151 for 4. Some late-order hitting by Richard Kelly and Dave Mohammad helped T&T surpass 200. Nurse (4 for 66) and Fidel Edwards(4 for 41) shared the wickets Barbados. However, Barbados suffered a reverse when Tino Best, who had returned to the team after remodelling his action, broke down during the third over, and did not bowl again.
