Division Two Points TableOnly three overs were possible between Essex and Somerset, in a frustrating day at Colchester. Those three overs were eventful for Essex, as Alastair Cook fell to the seventh ball of the day, leg-before to the left-armer Robert Woodman. Essex are 19 points behind Division Two leaders Durham, and just three points ahead of Yorkshire, who have a game in hand. Speaking to the BBC's website, Ronnie Irani, Essex's captain, was understandably frustrated: "In our position, we are desperate to play and can ill afford days of inactivity like this." Leicestershire v Northamptonshire - No play Wednesday due to rain Division Two leaders Durham got off to a solid start against Yorkshire, on a rain-affected day at Scarborough. Only 40 overs were possible, but Mike Hussey, in his final outing before flying off to join Australia A, and Paul Collingwood made the most of batting first, with a partnership of 84.
