Bangladesh A in England 2008

Finn and Godleman in Under-19 squad

Cricinfo staff

June 17, 2008

A strong England Under-19 squad has been named to face Bangladesh A in the first match of their tour at Loughborough starting on July 6.

Luke Fletcher, the Nottinghamshire pace bowler, earns a call-up, while Alex Wakely retains the captaincy following the U-19 World Cup in Malaysia. The quick bowling attack is well stocked with Steven Finn, Chris Woakes and James Harris having all played county cricket this season.

The batting, too, isn't short on first-class experience, led by Middlesex's Billy Godleman who is currently playing in the Twenty20 Cup.

The match against Bangladesh A leads into the main U-19 action of the season against New Zealand, which includes two Tests and five ODIs.

Squad Alex Wakely (Northamptonshire, capt), Ben Brown (Sussex, wk), Liam Dawson (Hampshire), Steven Finn (Middlesex), Luke Fletcher (Nottinghamshire), Billy Godleman (Middlesex), James Goodman (Kent), Alex Hales (Nottinghamshire), James Harris (Glamorgan), Daniel Redfern (Derbyshire), James Taylor (Leicestershire), Chris Woakes (Warwickshire).
