Scorecard

Bangladesh Cricket Board XI took the first-innings lead against South Africa in the warm-up match in Fatullah before the match petered out to a draw after only 47 overs of play on the third day.

Shakib Al Hasan's whirlwind 73 was the highlight of the day as it helped the BCB XI, which contains several Bangladesh national team players, take a 15-run lead. Shakib hit 14 boundaries in his knock, and scored his last 23 runs off just 12 balls. He and Raqibul Hasan (44) forged a 110-run sixth-wicket stand to frustrate the South Africans, who struggled to keep the scoring-rate down.

Graeme Smith used as many as nine bowlers in the hunt for wickets as his main strike bowlers failed to have much of an impact. Offspinner Johan Botha finished as the most successful bowler, snaring four wickets including that of Shakib. BCB declared on 412 for 9 and South Africa batted for nine overs, reaching 47 for no loss with the help of a breezy 32 from Smith, before the match was called off.

This is South Africa's only warm-up match before the first Test, which starts in Mirpur on Friday.
