North Central Province 607 for 9d (Gunawardene 209, Dilshan 134, Vaas 5-98) and 10 for 0 beat Western Province 228 and 386 (Daniel 119, Tharanga 40) by 10 wickets

Avishka Gunawardene's massive 209 in the first innings did enough to take his side to a comfortable 10-wicket win against Western Province at the Sinhalese Sports Club Grounds in Colombo. A second-innings 119 from Ian Daniel delayed the inevitable, pushing Western Province on to 386. They secured a token lead of 7 and forced North Central Province to bat again. However this did nothing to alter the result of the match.

Southern Province 336 (Suraj 91) and 592 for 9d (Vithana 103, Polonowita 160, Jayantha 148) drew with Central Province 265 (Kandamby 144) and 8 for 0
Scorecard

Southern Province and Central Province played out a tame draw at the Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy. Southern Province took full toll, scoring 592 for 9 declared in their second innings, easily bettering their first-innings effort of 336. It was a run-feast at the top of the order with Harsha Vithana (103), Anushka Polonowita (160), and Thilina Kandamby (144) all making centuries. By the time Southern Province declared there was no life left in the game, and Central Province easily batted out two overs to usher in the draw.
